Birthday Traditions

My Dad’s birthday is today. My birthday is on Wednesday. My whole life January 13th – January 15th has been a time of tradition for our family. Celebrating my Dad’s birthday with cherry pie and good wine on the 13th and then mine on the 15th with my Gramma’s special butterscotch icing chocolate cake (this cake is amazing, I promise you, you have never tasted anything like this).

Yes, my eyes are practically hidden in this photo but that’s not what matters. He’s the most supportive, great advice giving, careful listening father I could ask for. As I venture on this journey, he’s always there calling and texting to hear the latest and greatest. He’s the best. This photo was taken together at our family house on Martha’s Vineyard, on a cold, chilly winter day, laughing as we always do.

Happy birthday, Dad. See you for pizza and cherry pie in a few hours : )
